Working collaboratively with GoFibre and supported by the UK Government's Project Gigabit
From our successful partnership with GoFibre in completing Phase 1 of the transformative Project Gigabit broadband rollout in rural North Northumberland. This milestone achievement has brought future-proof, high-speed connectivity to over 1,100 previously underserved homes across Wooler, Berwick-upon-Tweed, and Belford.
Working collaboratively with GoFibre and supported by the UK Government's Project Gigabit initiative and Northumberland County Council, Ohmyfibre played a crucial role in deploying a state-of-the-art Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network in this challenging rural landscape. This Phase 1 completion marks a significant step towards bridging the digital divide and empowering communities in North Northumberland with essential digital infrastructure.

The newly deployed network enables residents and businesses in these rural areas to access lightning-fast broadband speeds, transforming their ability to work remotely, access online education and healthcare, and connect with loved ones. GoFibre customers in North Northumberland can now experience speeds up to 1000Mbps, unlocking new opportunities and enhancing their quality of life.
This Phase 1 achievement is part of a larger Project Gigabit contract awarded to GoFibre, aiming to connect a total of 3,900 premises in North Northumberland by 2025. Ohmyfibre is continuing to work alongside GoFibre to support the ongoing rollout and ensure the successful completion of this ambitious project, bringing future-proof connectivity to even more communities across the region.
